I'm just a dog

Okay, I'm just a dog. What of it?

In fact some people, homo sapiens, call me a mutt. That's because I was not pure bred or mass produced in a puppy mill. But hey, God made me a mutt so deal with it!

Besides it is not what is on the outside that counts; what counts is what is on the inside. On the inside I'm an angel, at least that is what my master thinks. That's why Terry named me ANGEL.

Now don't think that means I have a halo around my head or any crazy thing like that. I do NOT have an aura or glow about me; I do have some floppy ears if that counts for anything. But they are no where near as floppy as the ears on a basset hound or even one of 'em sausage dogs.

The reason Terry named me Angel is because I'm so lovable. He says I'm one of the most affectionate and lovable dogs he has ever known. Since he has had dogs his whole life he has known quite a few dogs, so if Terry says you are an Angel, that's the next best thing to God making you an angel. :-) But then what would I know about such things... I'm just a dog ... and a mutt to boot!

Dog or mutt it matters not. I'm on a mission from God :-) I stold that from a movie that my master was watching. He did not know I like watching TV too ... mostly the Animal Planet. In any case there were these two Blues Brothers who were on a mission from God. So hey, if they can be on a mission from God, I figured I could be on a mission from God, too. After all my name is Angel.

So I'm on a mission from God. My mission is to save homeless animals. But that is not so easily done. You see, to do anything that involves humans, aka homo sapiens, apparently you need money.

Thus my mission from God is to raise enough money over time to save the lives of homeless animals in Mississippi. There is a commercial I saw on TV that said there are 73,000 dogs and cats in shelters put down each year in Mississippi; more are out on the streets suffering. So what better mission to be on than a mission from God to save these homeless animals.

My master, Terry, started a non-profit called Good Shepherd Dog Animal Rescue (GSDAR). That was after his German Shepherd, Jade, died. Then I came along on this mission from God to help Terry. You see, he doesn't know it, but I really am an angel.

You can find out all about GSDAR at their website. Terry appointed me as their mascot and put me in charge of public relations and fund raising. That's because I'm so cute. He even made me my own homepage entitled Angel The God Sent Dog. That's the same name of this blog. But I'm not sure it should be called a blog when it is about a dog. Dogs whine, wimper, bark, growl or even howl ... but can dogs blog?

In any case, I'm howling for Good Shepherd Dog Animal Rescue. We need to raise $750.00 right off the bat so we can file with the IRS for a tax exempt status, one of those 501(c)3 things. Then we need to raise a ton of money to do animal rescue work. The small town were I live does not even have an animal control officer much less an animal shelter. Really there is not much of anything here.

So I'm trying to help Terry. You can help too by making a donation to GSDAR. There is a GSDAR PAW you can click on posted on the GSDAR site. Or you can buy some ANGEL PAW stuff. Terry made a lot of paw gifts and apparel. When humans buy this adorable ANGEL PAW merchandise, the GSDAR gets a small commission. So over time every little bit helps out.

Please visit my homepage. There are pictures of me and other ANGEL PAW stuff you can buy. I really like that one of me laying in the Veri Kennel. :-) Until later! Here's howling at you! Arrrooooowwwwww!
